We then found the petit train was ideal to travel cheaply down to the Bastide and the canal for a trip on the second Heritage Site in Carcassonne. Just outside the gates of Carcassonne Cite - so location perfect. Newly refurbished swimming pool was a very pleasant bonus. The hotel is immaculate with large rooms and huge beds. Nice hotel, modern and clean rooms, but could not get served at the bar. The French people who came in afterwards got served though! We waited 30 minutes and walked out. We would have walked right out of the hotel had we not prepaid!! more

A nice enough hotel and parking is included in the price. But watch out, there are a few snags. Whatever you do don't eat in their restaurant! The maitre d' has an ego problem to say the least. This hotel is in a fabulous location to Carcassonne city, just a short 5 minute walk. For the price you pay, you can not grumble! OK, so we only had one towel in the bathroom but maybe the chambermaid was having a bad day! Very convenient (free) parking. Internet is 9.90E for 24 hours.
