This is a interesting hotel. Located on a narrow street once inside you are pleasantly surprised by the decor. We had driven in and unloading our baggage which was a lot as we were travelling for a month in a variety of climates. Parking and driving in this area is very difficult and even our GPS was challenged. The staff... More

Booked as part of a cycling tour -- not sure I'd book it on my own. We had a very difficult time finding this hotel on our bikes...there are signs, but they read "the New Hotel Baume" which misled us. The neighborhood immediately around the hotel is a touch sketchy, but not unsafe. Location is fair -- walking distance to... More

We checked into the hotel for a 3 night stay in Nîmes. The location of the hotel, in a quiet cobbled street is a great location for getting to from the main station (a 10 minute walk) and to getting to the other attractions. The hotel is in the style of an old French chateaux with a gorgeous stone staircase... More

We visited Nimes for the first time and found this hotel on Booking.com Love the place, it has a beatiful staircase inside the building-chateau-lookalike and clean place. When I got in I have the rom 111 which turned out to be smelly and the toilet didn't work properly. We called the receptionist about this and he said "are you sure?"... More

I took a punt on booking our family into this hotel, in a rush quite late before our trip. This was primarily after seeing the photos of the interior of the hotel on various websites and thinking how nice it looked. We were in a car and found it a bit frustrating to get to the hotel after missing the... More

The hotel is now called New Hotel La Baume and the new owners are very "sympathiques". The location is superb, right in the "écusson", the historical pedestrian centre of Nimes. The street is not bad at all (see my photo) and indeed quiet. If a tatoo parlor scares you I advise you stay home and not travel... Indeed I saw... More

The reception and the building looks posh but the facilites and amenities are defintely not 4 star. The rooms are priced 3 star though. There is an expresso machine in the room but no capsules provided. No drink making facilites in the room. Walls are thin and could hear when there are people talking in the corridor. The bed is... The Marquis de la Baume recently changed names from the "New Hotel" after the aquisition by Best Western. The hotel has an excellent location - close to Les Halles for parking and near everywhere in the old quarter. It has exposed ancient stone stairs and archways that are very beautiful. But, when we stayed in the middle of November, there... More

On first arrival the hotel over looked a small urban street with some vacant shops and tatoo parlours, once inside the hotel this opened up into a vaulted labyrinth of passage ways and a nice courtyard. Reception is small but friendly, our room was not ready, but we were quickly allocated another. The room was stifling hot, windows had double... More

Stayed there August 2012. Room wasn't ready on arrival, however, staff was friendly, room was clean and had great architecture. Within walking distance to town and nearby parking. Breakfast was adequate. No in room wifi.
