We chose this B&B as a stopping point on a drive to the South of France, based on TripAdvisor reviews. La Traverse is a beautifully restored home in a tiny hamlet and our room was light, airy, spotless and elegant, with a modern pristine bathroom. We were made very welcome on arrival with a tray of tea and coffee and... More

We stayed one night at La Traverse and we were very impressed. We decided on this Chambres d'Hotes based on the other Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Attention to detail, friendliness, cleanliness, high quality furnishings, could not fault it. Well worth a visit and a very handy stopover. More

We stayed for three nights in January whilst visiting family in the area. It is an absolute gem which I cannot recommend highly enough. Easily located just off the A20 it makes a convenient overnight stop if travelling long distance but if you have the time you might be tempted to stay a little longer. Ian and Kate are fantastic... This B&B was delightful. The property is wonderful and rustic. The home beautifully restored, with lovely modern amenities. The hosts were truly warm and friendly and the extra touches, such as wine in the afternoon, were very appreciated. You must do their dinner (additional charge)--it was well worth it, and since this is not IN Limoges, there wasn't anything else... More

We stayed here the other evening and could not have been more delighted. It's a beautiful house which has been renovated to an exceptional standard. The bedrooms were wonderful and the food in the evening was a delight. We sat by a roaring open fire to eat. It was also a bargain as the four course meal, including wine, cost... More

Superb , the exterior is beautifully presented, the walk up the lavender flanked path enticing, and nothing disappoints, from the aperitif in the garden, to the home cooked four course meal, accompanying wine, quality of the bedding, superb comfortable bed, shower... we could go on. It was a real delight to find an establishment that lives up to its claims... More

Ten out of ten in all aspects, can't really add to that. We will not look for anything else and always stay again when in that region. Easy drive from Dover. We always use Chambres and over the years have stayed in quite a few. We would put Kate and Ian's La Traverse at the top of our list together... More

Traveling can take its toll, so take time to relax and breath. This is a quiet, well appointed haven just outside of Limoges, and our stay here could not have been better! We were the last to arrive, and guests had gathered in a sitting room, waiting dinner. Kate, one of the proprietors, offered wine and let guests mingle a... More

My wife & I travel extensively and we have stayed in some hotels which claim to be warm, friendly and clean and yet you soon discover what a disappointment they turn out to be. I am delighted to say that La Traverse Chambres d'hotes exceeded all our expectations. Our hosts (Ian and Kate Pointing) were simply amazing warm, friendly people... More

There is very little to say about La Traverse except that it is simply outstanding in every way. From the warm welcome, to the well appointed rooms, excellent furnishings and fantastic 4 course meal in the evening, taken with the other guests, our stay was brilliant. We only stayed the one night en-route back north, but it was very memorable.... More
