Check-in was very smooth; room was surprisingly well appointed with large wide-screen TV, large bathroom (lacking surface areas/shelf space) with separate WC. Beds are small, though this issue is a French disease and this hotel is no different in that way. No aircon, so relied on open window for ventilation. Area soon quietens down in the evening though, so no... more

We stayed here for one night en route home from Haute Savoie. The hotel is a splendid Belle Epoch building with many original features, recently refurbished with high quality fittings and comfortable furniture. It used to be the Royal Hotel, but has been taken over by Accor hotels. It is close to the railway station - a gem in itself!... more

Staff not friendly AT ALL! They said that no one spoke english, however the next day I overheard that same desk clerk speaking on the phone to someone in English.....so they also LIE! Noise, difficult sleeping with the traffic. Walking difficult because of the dog fecies everywhere. One must cross 2 very busy streets to acces the Hotel from the Train... more

We stayed for one night on our way back from Italy. The hotel staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean, modern and we had a great nights sleep, after a very long drive! We had a lovely balcony and were 10 mins from the centre, which enabled us to enjoy Metz for the day, before heading for... more

Just wanted to bring everyone up to speed on this gem. We only stayed 1 night as that was previously arranged, otherwise I would have extended the stay a few days at least. The renovations are 90% complete (rooms I believe are finished) Our room was on the 4th floor front corner. All brand new, flat screen tv on the... more

This hotel was under TOTAL RENTOVATION> Electrical wires hanging everywhere, No A/C, had to leave the windows open....fly's everywhere, no shower curtain, minimual hot water. Breakfast at 20 euros a complete rip-off! For us to enter our room we had to remove debrious from in front of the door. ORBITZ REFUSED ANY COMPANSATION.... stating the since the Hotel refused assistance,... more

Having booked and paid to a travel agency two rooms for two nights (90.50€ per room and night), we arrived the 18th May at 4PM at the hotel to be told at the reception that they had sold all of their rooms. They proposed us to lodge in a nearby partner hotel, the Metropole, without having to pay more. We... more

I was going to Metz for business and booked 2 weeks at the hotel. I ended up leaving after the first night. There is a huge difference between "quaint" and "old". This place was old. The carpet in the rooms and hallways is stained. The bedding was faded, everything looked like it desperately needed a makeover. The shower didn't work... more

Very, Very noisey. All of Metz is nothing but road traffic. The hotel was OK. Nothing fancy at all. Basic room with a basic bathroom. Staff did not speak English that well. The property is kept up in an "OK" manner. Would not stay at this property again. Pick a chain hotel in the city. more
