We stayed at Chateau de Mercues for 3 nights in mid-July. We had an exceptional experience. The chateau sits atop a mountain with incredible views. The rooms are grand with modern updated bathrooms. The huge pool was a big hit with our children. The staff could not have been nicer and more accomodating. We were very sad to leave! more

The Chateau itself is beautiful and is in beautiful surroundings, however, when you look at previous rewiews over the last few years things obviously have not improved. The breakfast was an absolute joke, cold scrambled eggs, the bain marie was not switched on! When this was pointed out they just threw my eggs away and switched it on!!! Not good... more

This castle is absolutely beautiful on the outside - the pictures are accurate. Beautiful grounds, nice big pool, many places to hike. The rooms, however, are very "tired".
