A wonderful trip for my mother and I, for our joint birthday. Our hosts, Phillipe and Elisabeth were welcoming, and achieved a difficult balance of unobtrusive warm hospitality whilst allowing for privacy, in their light and charming, beautiful home. This is a very special place with spacious interesting rooms and gardens to wander and roam at will. We loved it,... More

Philippe and Elizabeth Chauveau are generous hosts who obviously enjoy sharing their delightful house - so French, so chic! My husband and I were to stay only one night but we were fortunate enough to be able to stay on an extra night - we would not have hesitated staying longer but more travels were awaiting. We have no reservations... More

I stayed at La pluie de roses with three friends so that we could visit Monet's garden and house in some comfort. This was achieved in style. Philippe Chauveau and his lady could not have been kinder. The room was great and of real character. Everything that could be done was done to make our stay a real holiday. Tickets... More

We have now enjoyed two stays at this lovely place. The first impression is of a delightful hide away yet it's within walking distance of Monet's garden and for the more energetic, there's a riverside walk to the old town of Vernon. The lovely house is almost hidden away in it's delightful grounds, just waiting to be painted (I only... More

We had just spent several hours at Monet's Gardens and wanted to stay in the area. We serendipitously came across this place. We are glad that we did. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. It had wonderful charm. The en suite bath may have been the loveliest and most charming one we had on this trip (over 14 nights... More

The place on the surface is pretty. That's it. I can only imagine that the other reviewers had better things to do than notice the lack of warmth, cleanliness, comfort OR PRIVACY. The bed was hard, the bedding? there was not even an undersheet. Just a mattress protector. Heavy old, used, stale and soiled bedspread. (no duvets here). Two big,... More

Dear Madame(?) If we have well understood we are "les ténardiers" in "LES MISERABLES" Victor Hugo. If so, no comment! The owners. More

Lovely B&B in the village of Giverny, a short walk from Monet’s Garden and other impressionist hunts. We were in the “Bonheur du Jour” room, a nice, good-sized room and bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. Lovely views of the large garden and the valley. Wonderful garden with lily pond, atelier room, and lots of seating areas. Nice and welcoming hosts. Excellent... More

My wife and I were excited at the prospect of visiting the housie and gardens of Claude Monet and booked up with Elisabeth and Phillipe at La Pluie de Roses for a 2 night stay. We had a great time there, the house is quaint and charming and with the two perfectly mannered King Charles dogs keeping vigil during breakfast... More
