A very quaint French hotel with lovely gardens. The location is great; parking is free and in a nice gravel courtyard. Good value more

Great central yet quiet location in Honfleur. Very good parking. Excellent continental breakfasts. Were in outbuilding which was agreeable and very private. Recommended. more

Good location, with parking, near the harbour and museums. No restaurant or bar, but there are lots by the old harbour. Small pool. Great antique decor inthe reception/study, and main rooms. Our room was in an outbuilding, nicely dcorated and comfortable but less so than the main house. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was ok: in a nice conservatory, but... more

Agree wth other reviewers! this place is gloriously full of colour and clutter but retains an eclectic elegance and unique style of its own. Don't let this put you off - but enjoy the uniqueness as it is a great place to stay. and very french. The weird and wonderful colours in the rooms don't take away from the high... more

What fun! I booked direct with the hotel by e-mail (as my French is dreadful!) It was not a first choice but all the other hotels were fully booked - something I'm pretty glad of now as we'd've missed out on this whacky, friendly completely charming place! L'Ecrin is about a 4-5 minute walk down little cobbled streets from the... more

If you can get past the bizarre decor and eccentric staff, this is actually a very nice hotel. There is parking behind a gate off a quiet street away from the bustle of the center of town, but an easy walk to anywhere in town. The room we stayed in was HUGE, with a good size bathroom (with a great... more

We stayed at l'Ecrin for two nights in June 2007 on our way to Brittany. We rented a car and drove from Paris CDG, which was quite easy and took us less than 3 hours. The last meters to the hotel were a little more difficult, even though in the very tourist friendly Honfleur there are small road signs leading... more

I drove from London to Normandy for one night to celebrate a friend's birthday over dinner at Sa Qua Na, which is a bit like the sensible younger sibling of The Fat Duck in Bray (England), allegedly the world's greatest restaurant. I really hope Heston Blumenthal (who I am sure spends all his spare time on Tripadvisor, not) won't take... more

We stayed at Hotel l'Ecrin for just two nights in September. Extremely gracious staff. Nice location in that we could walk to the busy harbour but the hotel's street itself was quiet and safe. OK room; not large; nothing extraordinary. Our room had a bathub which was nice and a fantastic shower. more

We stayed at L'Ecrin and Honfleur as a base for Normandy visits. We liked Honfleur and did not mind the 20-30 min of driving to the main sites. My wife and I were somewhat split on L'Ecrin but overall we enjoyed it. We had two rooms connected by a small foyer whose door opened to the parking lot. Nice setup... more
