We stayed with our 12 years old daughter in August for 3 nights. It was a wonderful experience. We stayed in Napolean III's room which was large, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The chateau is within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The outdoor pool was warm with sun loungers and a wooded garden. I would highly recommend a stay. more

This beautiful 19th Century period house is within easy walking distance of the centre of Saumur . Chateau de Verrieres is a beautiful small chateau in large gardens a few blocks from the centre of Saumur. We received a wonderful welcome from the most friendly, charming and helpful of hosts. Their hotel is set in secluded, private grounds just an easy 10 minute walk from the town centre. The decor and ambience are classical and tastefully executed to the highest standard. Altogether, we found it a magical experience, thoroughly deserving of number 1 status. more
