From the very moment that we stepped into this "office block" type residence, we knew that we where going to like staying her for a while. The staff could not do enough for us and they made us feel so incredibly welcome. Élysée (I ihope that spelling is correct) was a delight she helped us in every conceivable manner to... More

After a horrible experience in Nimes my partner and I ventured off to Aix en Provence. Driving for hours all I could do without is hectic traffic. This hotel is situated just off the highway. What a wonderful relief. It looks like a huge glass office block. The welcoming smiles (especially from Elysee) was so heart warming that life in... More

We went to this hotel because the rate was very cheap. However, you should not expect anything else but basic accomodation. Even then, I think there are some basic elements that should have been there. When we got to our room, we noticed the carpet in the hallway was dirty. Our comforters were also stained. And they don’t give you... More

I stayed at the City Residence for over 1 month while I was conducting research for my Master's thesis. City Residences was a great hotel that made my stay in southern France even better. I am a graduate student with a very limited budget, and staying at City Residence allowed me to stay on (or at least very close to)... More

Having read some pretty scathing reviews about this place I wasn't expecting much. The main thing to know is that the rooms (at least the cheapest one I found on Hotel.com) have sofa beds instead of a normal bed. To be fair, this is mentioned in the description of the room, on Hotel.com at least. My wife and I stayed... More

Apartments - reminded me of student halls. They were clean and compact without being tiny but not exactly luxurious! We had a pull-out bed and 2 of the tiniest pillows I have ever seen which made for an uncomfortable night. Location - a good 15-20 mins walk to the Cours Mirabeau (the main street where the restaurants are). On a... More

I was surprised when there wasn't an actual bed but a pull out couch, which was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. (So uncomfortable that my friend and I had back pains for a day or two after sleeping there for 3 nights.) However, the shower was great with amazing water pressure. The kitchen was also a plus that helped save on some food... More

Our room in this hotel didn't even have a real bed. It had a fold out couch that was the most uncomfortable thing I ever slept on - or rather wasn't able to sleep on. These rooms seem to be efficiency apartments more than hotel rooms. Ours had a kitchen - complete with dirty glasses in the cabinets. The price... More

The photo in the brochure looked good, but that is the only good thing about this supposedly apartment accommodation. Looked to us like very basic university student accommodation or halfway house. Everything brown and very sterile, mould in the kitchen cupboard, a rock-hard bed, and a toilet not even fixed to the floor - that was a challenge! A long... More

Place was in unsafe location. We were advised to not walk in neighborhood. In fact, tour bus was vandalised while we stayed there. Staff was very protective of mini-bar and phone. Got the feeling they felt we were going to rip them off. Rooms were outdated (early 70's) and dirty. Curtains torn, blankets pilled, walls marked up, carpet stained. Wouldn't... More
