We stayed at Villa Gallici in late July 2008. The service, attitude and english skills of the front desk and concierge were excellent. They were great with directions and maps. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The service was good to very good and the setting is wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the hotel is quiet... more

My wife and I stayed here for 5 days in late June. The hotel is a beautiful old style Roman Villa set on a secluded hillside overlooking Aix. From the staff on reception/concierge to the restaurant staff to the Swimming pool/leisure people, the service was just first class. The rooms and beds were sumptious with lovely touches of roses/fruit etc on arrival. We stayed... more

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Gallici for 2 nights in early June. The hotel is wonderful, and is a typical example of what the Relais & Chateau experience should be. We booked a standard room and it had a great view but was a little cramped. The service of all the staff was fantastic except for a very bizarre... more

Renowned as the best hotel in Aix-en-Provence, Villa Gallici underwhelmed us despite the obvious care that has gone into it. The property's strength and weakness is that it is on a steep hillside in the center of town where privacy is possible but space is tight. High ceilings and mirrors help, but not the sumptuous decor in which fabrics, draped... more

amazing hotel on the edge of town. A little over the top which made it even better. The staff couldn't do enough and the bathtub was to die for. Aix wasn't as wonderful as the rest of Provence, but it's worth a visit. more

We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. The staff was delightful and extremely helpful. It felt like we were visiting a really rich relative. The hotel is beautiful and thoughtfully decorated. The pool area is quiet and comfortable- though it was still too cool to swim. It is fairly convenient to town- a very short walk. The food was... more

Stayed at this charming house in September. The room was divine, the restaurant was very recommendable serving great local specialities, and swimming pool area is so delightful. Most of all, thanks to Lionel and Nicolas, who every day gave us such precious information about the area, and did not stop bringing complimentary ice tea, fresh home made madeleines… What a... more

We stayed at the Villa Gallici for two nights in May. The weather was perfect and the entire hotel smelled like the fresh roses the surround the entrance. We had told them it was our anniversary and we found champange and treats in our room upon arrival. The room was small but I felt the pictures on this and the... more

Would usually use relais and chateaux accommodations when travelling through France. This is a nice hotel with great staff. I can understand some peoples misgivings in regard to the decor - it wouldn't be to my taste either- but I think in the context of the house, it's not that bad. The staff were great and very friendly, particularly at... more

Oy Vey. What happened to the good taste we were expecting? Some very "out there" decorators must have had a wonderful time going wild on the decor. We like provencal fabrics, but the public spaces were So over done, So cutesy, So over the top with cherubs and bizarre coy items that it was absurd. we stayed in a duplex... more
