Stayed here 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. It was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our trip and certainly wasn't the best. The room was ok, although not particularly large or luxurious (we'd paid extra for an upgrade/garden view). Bathroom was small and very average. Ground floor public areas of the hotel were very... more

Hotel Pigonnet was tired and overpriced. Seems to be living on a past reputation. Strange location. Staff seemed to think it was a 4 star hotel which is what it is rated but not worth the price. more

Stayed for 3 nights in May during our honeymoon. The place is fantastic, although you wouldn't tell from the street it's located on. The rooms are small for the price, but not atypical of European hotels. Bathrooms are great and large in proportion to our room. The concierge was not very helpful when asked about local attractions (they didn't know... more

We just returned from a stay at Le Pigonnet. We stayed in a two bedroom villa there. It was spacious and beautiful. The grounds of the hotel are quite stunning and well maintained. The only complaint that we had was the service at the hotel. The people at the front desk and in the restaurant could barely speak English and... more

SLH hotels rarely let me down and this was no exception. Quite simply Le Pigonnet is a stunning hotel. The interiors and public rooms are beautifully decorated. We were allocated a queen sized dooble room with paris style balcony overlooking the gardens. It was luxurious, spacious and very modern with LCD TV. The hotel gardens are phenomenal. It has 1... more

Le Pigonnet is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) Group and we booked through its website as it advises of additional benefits you can receive booking this way. We had a confirmation number. Imagine our surpise when we turned up and the hotel had no booking for us! Not to worry, they weren't full and they accomodated us.... more

We spent a lot of time trying to decide on a hotel in Provence, and were absolutely delighted with our choice to stay at Le Pigonnet. We arrived on a beautiful day and spent the afternoon beside their beautiful pool, which sits in their breathtaking gardens. This is a piece of paradise in the busy city of Aix. The hotel... more

Pigonnet's location is a leisurely walk to Aix center. Their spring gardens were almost bursting forth. It is an exquisite site. Rooms and facilities are lovely. The bar area is cozy. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The restaruant was so so; veal on the first night was tough. Service was excellent. We opted to eat there the 2nd... more

Being a bit of a foodee and a frequenting hotel's fairly often I'm happy to say this was not a mistake. Lovely old, well kept and run hotel. Rooms are quite small but I'm not one to stay in - however they were well equipped. Only gripe was that they had only 1 IRON (had to iron my own clothes... more
