My significant other and I stayed with Caroline and Hubert in July 2009. We were on a much needed vacation from high stress jobs in the states and Le Clos Des Freres Gris was a wonderful place to rest up and enjoy the sites of Provence. The Inn was very well appointed.. the rooms are beautifully decorated and clean, and... more

This was our second visit to Le Clos in a year, which says it all! We had a 5 day visit last September, but this time we could only manage a short stay, arranged last minute with great assistance from Caroline. However, as we expected 2 days is just not enough, we found everything as perfect as we remembered, and... more

Caroline is amazing. The perfect hostess, chef, tour guide. Cried when I left. Want to go back RIGHT NOW! The house is incredible, the grounds great, our room exquisite. Breakfast on the patio to die for, such a wonderful way to start the day. Evening rose and nibbles a fun way to wind down before dinner. Everything about this place... more

Le Clos Des Freres Gris strikes the right blend between comfortable service, very helpful staff, memorable rooms and authentic french surroundings so it feels like your own private home away from home. Just 5 minutes from the center of Aix-en-Provence we found it a great location that was just outside the hustle and bustle of the town center. Go! more

If you want the best breakfast in Provence, a beautiful room, and someone who takes a truly personal approach to her guests, stay with Caroline. When we arrived at the beautiful house, we parked in the wrong place (at the neighbor's). Very mindful of her neighbors, Caroline made sure that we moved promptly and we felt like kids being reprimanded.... more

Like the rest of the reviews I have only positive comments about Le Clos Des Freres Gris. Carolyn was a fantastic host and extremely helpful sorting out an issue with our rental car. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Oh.. and I can't forget to mention that the breakfasts were amazing! Four stars all the... more

Le Clos Des Freres Gris, is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast located in Aix-en-Provence. It's a lovely old house which has been lovingly restored by it's owners Caroline and Hubert. The house is in the most idyllic setting. It has it's own pool and Caroline grows her own fruit and vegetables. There are lots to do around the house if... more

I have only positive comments for this spectacular place. We were there for 5 nights and would gladly have stayed longer. Comfortable, attractive accommodations were modernized yet retained their charm. The convenience laptop with Internet was quite helpful. The food was marvelous every time (Caroline cooks a delicious breakfast!)--how could it not be when she uses the freshest ingredients from... more

We've stayed in dozens of B&Bs (and even more hotels) and I haven't had a better experience anywhere. After staying in crowded, noisy and parking scarce cities prior to this stop, it was a welcome rest to drive up to this 5-acre former monastery and have French-American Caroline welcome us with rose wine and olives grown on the estate, giving... more

What a wonderful stay! The home is absolutely gorgeous, and very tastefully decorated by the talented Caroline. The food is outstanding - she is a gourmet cook, as well! The hospitality was so warm - we felt very comfortable and at home. And did I mention it was spotless? All of my dreams of what Provence would be like (and... more
