I stayed here with my partner and we stupidly booked a 4 night stay on-line. Despite reading the reviews prior to booking we still went ahead and parted with our cash. All I can say is believe what you read. This hotel is absolutely awful, the worst I have ever stayed in. We had the ground floor room with 'attractive... more

Our hotel room was terrible - our room had a horrible smell, it was small and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. When we complained, the night manager ignored us and continued to talk on the phone. Although it was apparent that he understood what we were saying, he pretended that he didn't understand english well enough to communicate. I do... more

We have just returned from a short trip to the south of France which included 2 nights at the Danieli in Avignon. The hotel is situated in a fantastic central location in the old town on the main street - just a short walk to the key attractions, great restaurants and the train station. We stayed in a triple room... more

We booked this hotel online and chose it for its reasonable price. We booked for four nights. We were put in a weird room on the ground floor located between the dining room and a kitchen store cupboard. The room obviously used to be the corridor to the public toilets, and had been converted into a room. Our bathroom WAS... more

We stayed in the Hotel Danieli during the Avignon Theatre Festival during July, so I understand that the city was particularly crowded. However, I cannot impress upon you just how bad the noise issue was for us in our 3rd floor room. There is no air conditioning in the rooms so we were forced to open the windows for air.... more

I had read about the Hotel Danieli in Rick Steves' books and I should have caught on when he didn't say much about the hotel. I will say the location was excellent. It is right on the main street just two blocks from the main square and Palace of the Popes. The staff was friendly, and though the rooms were... more

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, 29th May-1st Jun to explore wonderful Avignon. The hotel is an old 17th century building, the operators are trying to improve it, but it was old and tired. The dining room has been done up and the entrance has been tidiedup, but carrying suitcases up 3 floors is a bit rich.... more

I only booked a room in this hotel because it was recommended by Rick Steves in his book. This hotel was extremely dirty, the entrance looked nice, but as soon as you left the main hailway and climbed the stairs to the room, it was dirty. The carpets are stained, the ceilings are dirty, the walls in the room are... more

The Danieli is an OK budget hotel in terms of room quality -- small bed (for two tall people), not all that comfortable -- but our room was clean if not well-lit. The location, however, is fantastic -- and even though it's on the main street, it's so set back behind double walls that it's quiet. The breakfast buffet was... more
