Great location at the top of Place de L'Horloge - our room looked out onto the Palais des Papes. Very friendly and helpful staff. This is a sweet, very clean, simple, but charmingly, decorated hotel - and quite reasonably priced (65 euro for double room) given that it's directly opposite the number one Avignon attraction. A gem. Everything's done out in bare stone, yet warm, clean and homely - excellent features and fittings, shower etc, and the widest and firmest bed we'd ever slept in (though it did squeak a bit). My wife and I stayed here 20 years ago and loved it. For our 35th wedding anniversary we decided to revisit. What a disappointment!. We had reserved and confirmed a suite; not available on the day of our arrival because "toilet was plugged up". This state must have existed all day and noone apparently bothered to fix it . My wife and I stayed here in October, 2004. Originally booked for 4 nights, left after 1 night. A great location in Avignon, but....the shabby appearance of the lobby should have given us our first clue of what was to come. The room was not clean. The canopy bracket over the bed was broken, the bathroom was in disrepair. Awful.... more
