We stayed in the apartment at Le Clos du Rempart in late September and had a lovely time. The apartment provided very comfortable accommodation for us and our two children (11 and 14). The location was perfect and I really enjoyed getting up before the children and heading to the market for fresh produce. Mdme Assad was very warm and... More

A lovely, airy apartment, right next to the walls and within easy walking distance of the main tourist sites. Great local shops and cafes. The pay & display parking was cheap - by UK standards - and not too difficult to find, even on the last weekend of the Festival. Mdme Assad was a hospitable but discreet host who made... More

We received a great welcome from the owner to this very comfortable apartment - the rooms are spacious, all equipment provided and had shared access to a beautiful courtyard. More

I was traveling from Paris to Strasbourg but after 48 hours in cold rainy weather I decided to dramatically alter my trip and had my hotel call around to find a place in Avignon. Someone suggested Aida' place--le Clos-- and I jumped on the TGV and headed south. Gorgeous place that is within the walls but not in the tourist... More

Everything about Le Clos du Rempart was good, made even better by our gracious hostess, Madame Assad. Delightfully decorated, a spacious room and satisfying breakfast. She also provided as with restaurant recommendations, and all information that we required. Usefully she also allowed us to leave our suitcases there while we went backpacking around Provence for 8 days. More

We spent seven nights here in the flat with our two sons. Aida Assad is a readily available, helpful but not intrusive host. The flat was modern (including the large bathroom with large shower) and provided a perfect retreat for us. All of us like to cook, and with such ready access to Provencal foodstuffs (especially the seafood at Les... More

We loved everything about this place, the moorish decor, the courtyard , the quiet, and best of all Mme Assad who made us feel at home. She was always there to help us with reservations and information. We enjoyed relaxing in her lovely courtyard and living room. We loved our room with its bathroom with a big tub. Breakfast was delicious, juice,... More

From the outside, Mme Assad's home appears very unassuming, just one of several doorways in a wall of buildings on a narrow street just inside the medieval city walls. When that door opens, however, you are welcomed into a warm and inviting space that will make you want to spend your Avignon days right there. The quiet rooms overlook a... More

When we first stepped into Le Clos du Rempart we knew we had made the right choice. The sapphire room was truly a jewel as it overlooked a beautiful courtyard. Both the room and very modern bathroom were large and had everything we could have asked for in a room. However, it was also the rest of the house that... More

Beautiful colorful home. Rooms were were very clean and bright. Breakfast was plentiful, very tasty and with all the coffee you could drink. Best of all--Aida the host. Warm and welcoming, full of infromation about Avignon and France in general, made great reservations for supper at the best restaurant in town, and even drove us to the train station for... More
