We visited le Cavendish in July 2007. The hotel was excellent in many ways. We had booked the Rotunda room which is their best type of room. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and with an efficient airconditioning and soundproofing. The only small problem was the noise on the outside huge terrasse from the nearby mainroad. We stayed here for 2 nights on a driving trip and the service was really excellent. The room we'd asked for was not available but the staff showed us two rooms to give us a choice - and we did have a wonderful room. This is definitely not a 4-star property! I don't know who they bribed to get the stars. From the nauseating smell of burning candles downstairs to snobby staff who clearly hates Americans, this is not a place to stay in Cannes. A week in August of 2006 at Le Cavendish was our second time in this lovely boutique hotel, where we feel almost at home. The location of the hotel is very convenient and central for sight seeing around Cote d'Azur. The rooms are very dirty...when we came there were a lots of hair everywhere.The service is very bad.The hotel has not 4 stars...but 2 with indulgence.It is very noisy and the rooms are pretty small.A great dissapointment indeed. more
