Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed 4 nights in this hotel and have been scammed as I bought a room which did not correspond to the one I was given. The pictures of the Signature room advertised on Hotels did not correspond with the room given because far too small compared to the ones in pictures: missing desk with chair and no double open wardrobe which was the reason why I decided to pay more for more comfort. The owner did not do anything about it and did not offer any kind of compensation which I find appalling and insulting. I was unable to access the ‘mini’ balcony due to my luggage and constantly hurt myself because I had to walk by the wall against a flipping table which hurt my leg everytime due to 20cm gap between wall and bed. Bed is small 140cm and bathroom was made by inserting a glass division in the room with no vent and privacy. Access to reception is by stairs only and very steep therefore not recommended to people with issues… no fridge and despite the good double windows which locked the noise from outside everything could be heard from the inside including the toilet flushing above your head… staff do not speak English and we’re definitely not helpful in sorting our room issue therefore overall a very bad stay … shame because the room on the reception level (might be noisier due to being next to their storage) was far cheaper and bigger than the one I got… avoid this place unless you are willing to compromise

This hotel is located in the city center of Cannes, this street is very busy and therefore noisy, it is impossible to sleep with the window open and even with the window closed we could hear outside noise, our room was small, much too small for us to want to extend our stay, in addition the decoration is not young, they still offer blankets which in our opinion are not cleaned each time a customer leaves, little storage in the room because too few places

We stayed in two seperate rooms with our son. The hotel owner was a very lovely person, who does his best to make you comfortable and feel welcome. We are so happy to meet someone like him. He showed the rooms available and asked us to choose. We had the best breakfast, prepared by him. His special coffees, fruit plates were amazing. So, you should definetely try breakfast. It was not like staying at a hotel. It was like visiting a lovely friend. We felt so sorry, when we left.

This hotel is perfect for you if you don't need too much space in your room. It's a small, clean hotel close to the beach that has lovely standards. Except for a fridge in the rooms it has everything you need, and the owners are fantastic people that will help you with all your needs. I really enjoyed my stay, and would recommend the hotel for everyone that doesn't need an elevator.

I was a solo female traveller looking for somewhere clean and convenient where I would feel comfortable and safe. I initially chose this hotel based on the tripadvisor review of a mother and daughter who had stayed here previously. They were so thoroughly enthusiastic about the thoughtfulness of the owners and the quality of the hotel, and I now echo all of their sentiments. The owners, Annalis and Fritz, made me feel very welcome from the first friendly greeting to my last minutes at the hotel. They clearly care a lot about their customers and their thoughtfulness and attention to details is evident in everything at the hotel, from the way that my room was thoroughly cleaned each day (it was truly spoteless), to the way that they provided beach towels, and greeted me whenever we met in the hallway or in the cute alleyway outside of the hotel. I loved coming back to this hotel in the evenings, because it was such a truly welcoming, comfortable, and clean place! I think this is the best value hotel that I have ever stayed at. I am still amazed that they charge such low rates during the peak season of August tourism, and that they offer such high quality rooms (with air conditioning, fast wireless, a universal adapter, beach towels, spotlessly clean and with everything in excellent condition, etc) in such a central location. It is only a five minute walk to the Cannes train station, and the beach is just a street away and to the left or right a bit (depending on where you want to swim). One of the best things about the location is that there is a Jean Luc Pele shop just around the corner (on rue Meynadier) where there are amazing croissants and chocolates, and the Marche Forville is just a few minutes walk away, as are the restaurants in the Suquet area.

If your attending a conference in Cannes, this is an absolutely excellent hotel solution. The rooms have everything you need and are fresh and spotlessly clean. The hosts Annelis and Fritz are extremely friendly and service minded. The other positive reviews don't lie this is a little gem.

We booked this hotel using booking.com based on the reviews as I heard a hotel in South of France could be a hit and miss. We wanted something good and the reviews did not disappoint; this hotel ended up being really good. The hotel is nice and simple, and is situated in the heart of Cannes. The owners, who were a pleasant couple, have been helpful since day one of our visit ensuring our stay is comfortable. The rooms were kept clean and we had everything we needed even small things like power adapters were provided, all this could happen probably due to the owner’s attentiveness. It was a great hotel without all the unnecessary pompousness of the big hotels and we would say it was great value for price and a great experience overall!

We booked this hotel having read TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed! Fritz and Annelis were delightful and very attentive hosts looking after our every need and being especially helpful with my elderly mother who was travelling with us. We knew the stairs would be a challenge for her but Fritz offered lots of help and she managed well. The rooms were light and airy with modern fittings and very comfortable beds. The highlight had to be the breakfasts with a wonderful mix of French and Swiss fare, croissants, fresh fruit and a different feature item each day - delicious. We were given plenty of advice on restaurants and provided with maps of the town. I can highly recommend Hotel des Allees as a very affordable place to stay in this very fashionable town.

Every year I spend ten days at the Hotel des Allees. The owner managers are like family friends for me. The establishment is extremely well run and very well situated near the old port of Cannes. Rooms are impeccably clean, breakfasts are always served with good humour and little extra treats of fruit salad or special muesli are regularly on offer. The only drawback is lack of an elevator but that is an advantage towards keeping fit!

My daughter is a college student studying abroad for 10 weeks. She and a fellow student decided to spend a long weekend in Cannes. Selecting a hotel when you have zero familiarity with an area can be a daunting task. Tripadvisor was a godsend. After thoroughly studying reviews, it was decided that Hotel des Allees was THE way to go. Hotel des Allees did not disappoint!!! It's a wonderful, affordable, cozy, clean and centrally located respite. My daughter and her classmate travelled to Cannes from Paris by train. They were able to navigate the area, access the hotel and everything of interest, by foot. No car was needed. The friendly and accommodating owners of Hotel des Allees live on property. They are happy to help but not hovering or intrusive. They readily offered excellent restaurant advice (my daughter is a vegetarian) and "how to's" in terms of getting to nearby island, Sainte-Marguerite. Definitely check out Sainte-Marguerite. According to my daughter, "It's magical." The owners' two dogs are an added bonus. In fact, the owners walk the dogs and always offer a friendly hello to their guests in passing. Rooms are spotless, air-conditioned, have free wifi, a safe, a television that offers channels in several different languages. There's a blow dryer in the bathroom and the shower can be used both handheld or hands-free. Toblerone candies are left on the bed. A lovely touch. The hotel and room is accessed via electronic room key. Hotel des Allees was everything Tripadvisor reviews suggested it would be and more. Highly recommend.
