The Residence Massena is a fair bit removed from the main strip (La Croisette) in Cannes, but the value and service make it worth it. My husband and I have stayed with them for three years running. We've never found a less expensive hotel in Cannes - one that is worth staying in, that is. The rooms are clean and bright. Many have nice balconies (You can't see as far as the sea, but nevertheless). If you get a suite with a kitchen, they are well-appointed and have most of the crockery and cutlery you'd need. It's about a 10 minute easy walk down to the Palais and the Croisette, and we enjoy it because there are many lovely bakeries in which to stop and buy a pastry for breakfast. You could also take a short bus ride, or a taxi (although be warned that during the Festival du Film, the taxi prices are exorbitant).
