Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We spent a marvellous week at Hotel Astor and Studio in Juan Le Pin. The location is extremely convenient because we could reach the centre of Juan Le Pin and the Beach in 10 minutes . We could also walk and reach Antibes in 15 minutes walk. In Juan Le Pin there was the station and we took the train to go to Monaco-Montecarlo, Cannes, Nice. There are trains every 15-30 minutes. Amazing!! The owners , Jean - Christophe and Isabelle , were so friendly and nice and they provided all the advice and support our family needed. The hotel was extremely clean and functional for our family and the room was spacious . You can also borrow very interesting books on life, purpose and happiness. The breakfast was extremely rich. Briefly , we really look forward to come back ! Mariagrazia

We booked a terrace room for three nights. When we arrived in the afternoon, the office was closed (only open in the morning) and check-in instructions were clipped to a board at the front door. Our room was two floors below the main floor and we found no elevator. The room was at the end of a narrow hall. It had an outside door to a narrow terrace that had been excavated many feet below grade. I would say the room barely met the definition of a daylight basement. The room was very clean but clearly a one star room. We left the room to find some lunch. The hotel is in the midst of a residential neighborhood with no other commercial services visible anywhere. There was no person on-site that we could ask for directions. We walked toward Antibes. We learned that was a mistake. It was a 20 minute walk before we found anything. Since we were travelling for pleasure, we decided this facility was not for us. If our objective was the Juan Les Pin beach, a value room and knew to avoid the basement location, Hotel Astor would have been a good choice. We talked to the owner as we left to move to a new hotel. He was incredulous that we would be leaving and fiercely defended his hotel and the accuracy of their description. I requested a partial refund. I was refused, which was his right under the terms of the listing. Still, we left as dissatisfied guests and a gracious host would have made some attempt to mitigate the situation. It's clear that many guests were happy with the hotel. They must have been looking for value and a place near the beach and did not stay in a basement room. In fairness, we paid nearly 200 euros per night and found a beautiful hotel in Antibes for just slightly more.

Excellent family-run hotel just 5 minutes walk to Juan Les Pins train station and close to bus routes. A good option if you want a well-priced hotel with clean facilities in a quiet suburban location. The Wifi is good and there is off-street parking (fee payable) which is great.

Relaxed atmosphere, good location (within 15 mins walking to Juan les Pins beach and Antibes centre) and clean. Breakfast is good, if you like sweet. Friendly owners. Parking place is available most of the times.

Thank you Isabelle and Jean-Christophe for another enjoyable stay. We stayed last September for a long weekend. This time we stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is extremely clean and tidy and well maintained. We were very happy in a studio again. We did not use the kitchen facilities but good to have a fridge. The bed is extremely comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet residential location but only a short walk to the train station or beach. It is a very busy time to visit Juan les Pins. We had booked to Spain but changed our plans as the quarantine back in the UK was brought in. Thank you to the hotel for plenty of advice on where to go and what to do and how to avoid the crowds. We will return again in June or September. It is a great location to visit Cannes/St Tropez/Monaco. We went to Monaco for the day on the train on this visit. Breakfast at the hotel is simple - croissants and baguette bread but nice and pleasant on the terrace and served with a smile. We will back!

They seem to be always booked, so it’s a best kept secret, this little hotel in a quiet spot near the train station. Walking to either Juan les pins or Antibes is easy. The hosts are delightful and have thought of every detail a guest would need. Breakfast is well worth the price and served on a beautiful terrass. We will recommend this hotel to all and will stay again next year.

Had a nice stay for a couple of nights in late August. Quietly located, quite close to Juan les Pins train station. Trains run close to the hotel, but they aren't that frequent and didn't represent a problem for us. Rooms are apparently quite different from each other, we had a nice one with balcony. Friendly staff, nice breakfast area, cozy and light, pleasant style generally; good command of the English language. A few small remarks: 1) breakfast: if you haven't ordered it via your reservation, the text info in the room isn't complete. Yes, as it is written you must call #4 on the room phone the day before, but you also need to leave a worded message about your wishes, and probably the specific room number as well. 2) one could wish for better staff presence. A guy who locked himself into his room & then couldn't open his door afterwards; us neighbours had to help him out, with him throwing a key out from the window & us trying to retrieve it down in the parking space and opening the door, since trying to contact staff didn't work.

I travel a lot for work and I am lucky I get to stop in 4-5 star hotels. However I have to say this hotel was everything we needed yes 2 star but don’t let this put you off. Everything worked, the rooms were spotless the kitchen area a real bonus as allowed me to make a pack up each day and have breakfast in the room too. Air-con was great too. A nice distance from the main town 10 minutes walk to the front. The train station was 7 minutes walk away and to be fair if I had known I would have not rented a car as the train would have been ideal. Great family break for 5 days and would return to this hotel.
