On Booking.com this hotel is called Hotel Club Vacanciel Menton and signage to the hotel has this name, while the front entrance says “ L’Orangeraie”. It sits a good bit off the Rue Partouneaux through a well-tended garden, which makes for a nice start, but overall the hotel was very average and in some ways disappointing. Check in was fast,... This town, and hotel, were popular vacation spots early last century, and the hotel still has the charm, and drawbacks, of an earlier time. Gardens, lobbies, and grand staircases are lovely, rooms are fairly simple. Vacanciel L'Orangerie is now part of a chain that caters to the French package vacation crowd so lots of older couples, and planned events. That... More

Nice old building, four storey, we were on the fourth floor in a room at the back. Problem with this is that the busy railway line is right behind the hotel so avoid being put in a back of hotel room, it's noisy most of the time! Also the lift is very busy nearly all the time as the residents... More

This hotel looks very grand from the outside and the gardens are beautiful. It is set well back from the road so rooms are very quiet.Staff were very helpful and it is an asset to have on site parking. It is a short walk to beach, shops and restaurants and is very good value for money.

This hotel could be really great very easily. Unfortunately, for our week in Menton, too many minor niggles took the shine off our stay. I very nearly scored it 2/5 but as the hotel didn't stop us enjoying our week I've generously scored it as average. L'Orangeraie has a lot going for it. It is well located just a short... More

What a lovely experience it was staying at this hotel. Beautiful grounds and well tended gardens. Quite a different experience from the usual holiday expectations. The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. Breakfast on the terrace was a treat. Guests, mainly over 60's. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is not much English spoken in the hotel as guests... More

ThIs is a good value hotel on central menton. It is less than 10 mins walk to railway station and also to beach in Menton. Hotel is a really lovely old building - very much old school glam in beautiful gardens. Room was modernised, but bathroom a bit small. Staff were helpful and friendly. Carparking useful and good value. Daily... More

This delightful place has it all: big and spacious, surrounded by well-tended grounds, it stands just a couple blocks from the sea. Our room was enormous yet inexpensive and the staff was helpful and nice. Indeed, they were also understanding, as our car broke down on the way, and we didn't make it the first night. They didn't charge us... More

Lovely location, near the beach and local amenities but still quite quiet. Hotel is quiet too, especially at night - many older residents. The bar closes very early - about 8:30pm I think! But if you're looking for peace and quiet this is a boon. Room was small and basic but clean, bed very comfortable, shower small but adequate, air... More

visited this hotel for the Grand Prix classic cars 29th April-4th May. Hotel and gardens look fantastic. Rooms a little tired and common areas need updating, food and drink expensive. Staff speak some english and are very pleasant, breakfast far better than most French Hotels. The unusual thing was that our room 328 smelt as if someone was always cooking... More
