We spent a mere 2 nights in this lovely village. It was a stunning move to not stay in the large city of Nice and to locate a decent priced hotel in the quiet quaint village. We stayed at the Darse for the first time having previously stayed at the Welcome. Though the Welcome is fabulous, in terms of value for money you cannot beat the Darse which is very reasonable. We know Villefranche quit well and normally stay at the Welcome. This was just a stopover with four small children for one night and so we thought we'd try the Darse as it's about one third the price of the Welcome. The position is very good, particularly if you like the quiet side of Villefranche and the stony Darse beach.... more
