The best B&B I have ever stayed in. Mauro and Serge were great hosts. We stayed in the Asia room, dramatically cut out of the rock but warm and welcoming. Mauro chatted with us over breakfast on the first day and then we all chatted with another couple on the second morning. It was a shame we could not stay... more

An internet search landed me at Le Petit Jardin, both because it is a price performer and because it appeared to be in a safe and quiet part of Marseille, which has a somewhat gritty reputation [I actually didn't see much of anything seedy in 3 days]. I was specifically looking for a place that would give me the feel... more

A terrific alternative to hotels for the same price. 20 minute walk from the centre, but such a lovely spot & no hard slog. Hosts & breakfast brilliant, as were the rooms. Very unique, will look for B&B/Guesthouses instead of hotels in France from now on! more

My boyfriend and I stayed one night in the Asia room after a couple of nights in another hotel in the Vieux Port. The Asia room is in the basement and the walls are carved out of the rock, giving a real wow factor. There is also a lovely quiet garden. The room is complete with aircon and a stereo... more

We began our two week break with three nights at Le Petit Jardin and wished we could have stayed much longer. This is such a special place - it is hard to define. The primary memory is of Mauro, such a friendly, helpful and professional host. The room was beautiful, the breakfasts on our own private terrace were a real... more

I was in Marseille for the European wind energy conference at the Marseille convention center, and found this B&B using tripadvisor. Having never been to Marseille I was not sure how the logistics were going to work, but the cost differential and high recommendations over other Marseille accomodations made it worth taking a chance. My expectations were exceeded, and I... more

My trip was organised last minute when there was a big conference on so all the hotels were full. I stayed in the asia room which has a really nice atmosphere. I know I was there on business but I would say this would be a good hotel for a romantic weekend. It doesnt have tv but has cd player... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at Le Petit Jardin for 2 nights in early May. It was a fantastic introduction to Marseille and Serge and Mauro were extremely helpful, recommending restaurants and routes to explore the city. The Africa Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It can be a little difficult to find on the meandering streets of Marseille but... more

If you are visiting Marseille, you must stay at Le Petit Jardin. It is on a narrow one-way street and may be difficult to find at night, but it is well worth the effort. My wife and I stayed in the well-appointed Asia room. The walls look like they were hewn out of solid rock giving it a dazzling "cave-like"... more
