Had an enjoyable meal and a pleaseant stay on route through europe. The only downside was the adjoining sofitel which we used for a nightcap as it is linked to the Novotel...a complete rip off and very snobby. the drinks bill came to 30 euros for 2 Irish coffees and a lager !! more

Stayed for 2 nights during half term week. This was a very nice hotel in a great location. Only around 10 mins walk into the main port area which was very pleasant and safe. Can't understand anyone complaining about the walk- obviously the only walking they normally do is to their car as it really wasn't a problem for us... more

This hotel was selected as an overnight stopover for a family of three in Marseille and we didn't want to leave. The room was a delight, with a great view over the fort and marina. The beds were comfy, plenty of space in the triple room and a trendy bathroom with all the mod cons plus some. Good TV and... more

Stayed 5 nights. Two adults and two children(6 & 8). Well functioning business hotel. Nice designer touches in the room. Very nice bathroom. Hotel starts to look a little worn. Nicely situated by the port. Next to a fort and Le Pharo. It is about 1 km (probably a little less) to the part of the port with (plenty of)... more

This is a nice, mid-level business hotel on the edge of the Vieux Port. The rooms are efficient and modern with very nice bathrooms. Unfortunately, we stayed here on the way home after two week's holiday in the Languedoc, so we were really disappointed by the lack of charm. The very nice pool has a good view of the port... more

Don't be fooled by the title - it's a 20 minute walk from the centre of Vieux Port - not good if you are with your 70 year old mother or anyone who isn't happy negotiating busy roads and walking in heat - it was 31 degrees while we were here. Probs started at check in when none of the... more

The Novotel is lovingly entwined around the 5 star Sofitel (part of the same chain of course) with a fantastic position at the harbour entrance. Of course its only fair that the Sofitel nabs all the best room views but there is a rather nice breakfast terrace as consolation. The Novotel was getting a pretty serious smartening up when I... more

I have stayed here on several occasions when on Business in Marseilles. It is a very pleasant, well priced hotel. If you want a little more luxury then the adjoining Sofitel may well be your best choice. It is located about 10 minutes walk from the harbour where there is plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping (Turn Left out of... more

After the dirt and dust of the station area of Marseille this hotel was a welcome oasis. It appears to have been newly built, and whilst the check-in area is unimpressive my room can only be described as superb. Using a mixture of blond-wood, shaded glass and etched steel the designers have created a feeling of calm luxury combined with... more

We had previously stayed in Novotel in Berlin and was pleasantly surprised - didn't get a kind of Travel Lodge as expected so with confidence in the brand name we booked at Marseille Vieux Port. The two couldn't have been more different. The hotel is situated at the rear of the Sofitel which enjoys all the best views, restaurant etc,... more
