This hotel is great, with friendly staff and very very nice clean rooms indeed. It is really close to the Gare SNCF and the port but the area it is situated in felt a little dodgy. Marseille as a whole is a gritty city with not much to do for the tourist. But don't let this put you off this... more

We had originally booked at Hotel Select down the road, but was very disappointed with the room and service that we immediately decided to leave. Luckily Hotel Lutetia down the road had a double room available. We were able to view the room on offer prior to agreeing to pay and was very pleased with it. Bright, air rooms, lovely... more

The rooms are small, but the hotel really tries hard to make them feel cosy and trendy, with nice colour schemes, lovely pillows, and very comfortable mattresses. It is tiny, but it's big enough for 2 people with luggage. bahtroom would use updating, but it's functional. Some reviews talk about the lift, it is small, but it holds 2 people... more

We booked online just the day before arrival. Indeed the staff are ok and i like that they are helpful without being talkative or too suggestive. They give you your space but offer help when asked or seemed needed, defintely not pushy. The rooms are very basic but not a turn off. I would avoid the smoking floors though, the... more

The lobby is actually very nice. Unfortunately, it's downhill from there. Up to the room, it's either a long spiral staircase with narrow steps, or an elevator that actually is within the spiral. It is barely wider than size 12 USA mens shoes, as seen in the photo. It was only big enough to put one person and small luggage... more

Nice, well maintained hotel! Conveniently located at about 5 minutes walking from the trainstation and about 10-15 minutes walking from the old harbor along well lit and wide streets. I stayed in one of the non-smoking rooms at the 4th floor facing the street. The room was not very large, but big enough with an on-suite bathroom. The room was... more

We stayed a couple of nights at the Lutetia after arriving by overnight ferry from Corsica. We went there at 8 am and were greeted by a friendly reception who said "one problem, your room won't be ready until 10am". This wasn't really a problem as we went for breakfast and down to the harbour to see the fish market.... more

I agree with the good reviews on the website. The area is not like a construction site anymore as the tram lines are working now. There is free internet in the foyer. The lift is really tiny but its better than no lift. Its in a great area to get to the train station or to walk to the vieux... more

The staff were friendly and courteous. Cleanliness was very high. Excellent value for money, including breakfast which, although extra, had a wide variety of choice to suit all tastes. Location really useful for the station for day trips out. more

This is a wonderful little hotel for budget/mid-range (70 euro a night) travelers. Our room was light and airy, and very clean, with a small balcony overlooking the street. There was good sound-proofing with the window closed, we did not hear the street noise at all while going to sleep, and the a/c kept us cool. The staff were all... more
