The hotel is opposite the station, about 10 mins walk from the main square. Some of the staff at reception are very helpful, and really want you to have a nice time. However, the rooms I had (I came back a 2nd night unexpectedly) seemed to have marks on the carpet - it's possible that this is just because they... more

Decided to stay overnight in Chamonix on the way down to Monaco, we didnt have a room booking anywhere so we called into several hotels to check out room rates and availability. This was the last one we went into, and we are so glad we did, the young lady at reception let us choose from 3 different rooms and... more

Hotel Gustavia is centrally located in Chamonix. The location is the hotel’s best asset. The hotel is owned by a Swedish company and there are young Scandinavians staying here both winter and summer. The reception is OK and the stairway, pub and breakfast room are full of atmosphere. But our room was small and the bath was very small! But... more

I feel this hotel hasn't decided what is important - its guests or visitors to the bar/terrace. Probably money!! but for how long? In the summer a lot of the guests will be walkers who want to be asleep by a reasonable hour. If this is you forget the Gustavia. A couple of nights a week, if our stay was... more

This hotel was booked for me as part of a group trip with friends – I promptly looked it up on this site and was worried about what I read, to be honest, I really wasn’t looking forward to staying there. However, the hotel definitely had some redeeming features: breakfast was good with a decent selection of food and drinks... more

I was ski touring my way through chamonix and spent three nights at the gustavia. I bunked with a buddy in a 2 bed room with bath. my bed was broken down the middle with a deep sag. sleeping was simlar to a hamock. I asked the first night for a unbroken bed. no deal. I asked the 2nd night... more

This is a really nice hotel. The food in the evenings was fantastic, really couldn't fault it at all. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a very popular bar downstairs with a live band from 5-7pm in the ski season, which was a bit loud but didn't go on too late.... more

Hotel Gustavia is perfectly positioned and designed for people that are in Chamonix for skiing or snowboarding. The rooms are clean and well serviced and we had no issues with heating or water. One of the highlights was the food and the ambience. The Hotel has its own restaraunt serving a set menu per day (12Euro extra for dinner), a... more

We booked a new year ski package through Ski Weekends and ended up in room 101 of the Hotel Gustavia. It was absolutely terrible. As stated in earlier reviews, the room is directly above the apres ski bar. The noise in the room was so loud that the pictures on the walls were vibrating. On the first night I went... more

Stayed at the Gustavia from the 19-12-07 to the 22-12-07. Hotel is very easy to find as it is opposite the main station in Chamonix. The hotel was clean and the rooms were of a good standard. Bathrooms were also clean and the hot running water was never ending. Hotel staff were very friendly, especially the people who worked during... more
