Just returned from the first week of the 2009/10 ski season. The hotel was very clean, warm and welcoming although perhaps the refurb has not quite been finished. The staff were great; couldn't do enough to please. Good food; good wine; not 5 star standard but you won't be paying a 5 star price. A good 3 star standard hotel... more

We stayed in Coq de Bruyere as part of a package holiday with Total Ski (one week full board accommodation + flights + transfers for under 400 pounds). I didn't really expect much since it was so cheap, expected a dirty old 2 star french hotel, but was very pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel and it was... more

I hve just been reading past reviews of the Coq de bruyer. I am glad I did not read them prior to going !!. It might have put me off. I booked a last minute holiday at a bargain price and have been delighted with all aspects of the holiday, particularly the hotel. Yes, the bedrooms were small, yes the... more

first of all dont be put off by the bad reviews i stayed there just the other day. had to be the best skiing trip so far. the location of the hotel was brilliant 20 second walk to slope. the staff were lovely, very polite and happy to help. the rooms were clean and warm nothing special though. the food... more

we went to courchevel with some trepidation. having booked what looked like th bargain ofthe century at the coq de bruyere at under £400 half board. on checking out these reviews immediately after booking my heart sank. by the time we went we had prepared ourselves for the worst. we were 3 adults and 2 children, one of which is... more

Had to write this review as I found the previously logged review misleading. Seb refers to a stay in 2007 that he was unhappy with. Having just returned from this hotel, I think a real improvement must have taken place. This is a traditiional hotel, just as you would expect in a skiing resort. Sking on the doorstep, good food... more

This was the second time i have stayed at this hotel in Courchevel. Before i start slating this dive i want to make it clear, the first time i stayed here was not bad! if we hadn't liked it we wouldn't have returned! The second time however was beyond a joke. The company who run this hotel SERIOUSLY need to... more

Mixed reviews gave us some worries and to some extent they are honest. However, on balance they are a bit unfair too. The position of this chalet hotel at the price you pay cannot be beaten. 100 yards to the main meeting point and 30 yards to a backdoor way onto a piste gives virtually ski in/out status. When also... more

My expectations were not great to begin with given other chalet type places i have stayed in, but all i wanted was a warm room, decent bed and working shower to relax in after a hard day's ski. Coq de Bruyere, however, set a new low and is no way a three star as purported by my tour operator. Where... more

Just got back from a great skiing holiday in Courchevel 1850 - staying at this Hotel Chalet. Slightly nervous before we left having read other reviews on this site. However, it was clean and there was plenty of hot water - very important! It's in a great position, with very friendly, helpful staff who were always polite and great fun.... more
