We didnt stay here, but had made a booking through holidaycity.com which we canceled two weeks before we were to stay. The hotel still took our money from our creditcard and after many emails to and fro and contacting our bank claiming a fraudulent transaction we still have not been refunded. Total rip off. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! more

Who gave this hotel two stars? The location in "Little Algeria" was O.K. as it is near everything but there was no service, the rooms were dirty and the bathroom was inadequately cleaned. Luckily we were only booked for a few hours between our train's arrival and a flight out.. The airport shuttle which I had expected when I booked... more

If I had known better I would have spent the extra 50 bucks and stayed somewhere decent... this hotel is positively awful. Greasy, paper-thin bedspreads, unsanitary sheets, creaky, funky windows... the carpet has never been vacuumed in years and the bathroom is poorly-lit and there is no shower curtain. All the above you can find in Paris or Lyon and... more

The clerk didn't speak English. He was surly and didn't know anything about our reservation. There was a tour of 18-25 year olds staying there. It was like being in a dorm. They were noisy until 2:00AM. It was hot. The elevator didn't work on our last night. The parking was far away. The hotel was farther away from the... more

I stayed here on a business trip in 2004. We had the worst experience!! The hotel was dirty. We were afraid there were bugs in the rooms. We did not feel safe in this hotel or in this area. Our reservations had breakfast included which we had in writing and was confirmed by the clerk during our check-in. The breakfast... more

This is possibly the worst hotel i've ever stayed in. It was so bad that i refused to stay on or visit lyon (meant to be there for 3 nights!!!) and the moment we checked in the hotel we opened our guide book to move on to another town. The awful smell of the corridor, room (reminds me of a... more

I stayed a couple of night in this hotel, suggested by Expedia. Well, it was simply the worst hotel I've ever seen. Dirty rooms, bad neighborhood, small and very old beds, noisy area, I mean, all of the worst you can imagine! Keep off! more

Stayed at hotel du Helder during 1st week of June 2004. Ugly neighbourhood (probably no French people live in the area). Otherwise, location well served with transport: very close to tram stop, metro station not that far. Room decor is quite depressing. Light and airy breakfast room with good breakfast, which you have to pay for on site upon checking... more

I refuse to call this a hotel. It is worse than a 1 star motel. It is located in a very rundown neighborhood with gangsters screaming and shouting in the middle of the night. Not to mention the malfunctioning showerhead (didn't spray water/in fact no hot water for shower!), clogged bath tub, towels they claim to be clean but with... more
