Hotel La Residence was quite nice - a tiny bit worn compared to the sparkling new north american hotels I usually stay in, but actually quite charming. We liked the location of the hotel (easy to get to metro stations!), many restaurants/shopping nearby and loved our room (the small balcony was lovely). What we didn't like was the noise from the pedestrian street in front of the hotel. We slept with ear plugs in and were fine, but even on an upper floor you will hear people... more

The hotel is located in the very center of the city on rue Victor Hugo, one of the two major shopping streets in the city. It's only a few hundred yards away from the main square and 5 minutes walk to the historic old town. The hotel entrance is a very nice art deco - and the reception reasonably good.... more

I chose this off TripAdvisor and was perfectly happy with it. My room was small, but on an inner courtyard, so quiet. The airline lost my bag and then mauled it, but the front desk received it when it was finally delivered after I had officially checked out but before I left the city. So nice service.
