La Residence is a well-kept, well-located hotel. While there's nothing extraordinary about it, there's nothing terrible to be said, and some nice perks include telephone and TV in room, as well as a location on a main pedestrian artery convenient for sightseeing. Also, free Internet access is available in the lobby. more

We stayed there for one night, in a nice clean room. There's not much to say, just that it's in the city center, near everything. The frontdesk should be more helpful and kind. more

My little room was nice and I especially loved the bath/shower. The lobby is not too flash--dark leather sofas...so 1988! But the internet was good, and free. The main problem with Residence is the location--it is right on the main pedestrian street near clubs. I heard drunk people screaming all night, and kids congregating just below at all other times. more

I stayed at La Residence for one night in August pre-river cruise and had no problems. I was on the fourth floor and yes, the elevator was a little slow, but certainly not a big deal. I was quite baffled as to why this hotel is rated so highly. It is centrally located but the rooms are shabby, the air conditioning barely works and the walls are paper thin.
