We have stayed in Heidelberg many times, and always go back to the Hackteufel.The owners are a bit formal, but the setting is perfect, and afterall after a night out in the Altstadt you need to be near the Steingasse. This is a lovely gasthaus right in the centre of the old town within easy walking distance of all the sights of Heidelberg. Our room was lovely, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Not something that you always get in Germany!
