After 3 nights at the Gablerhof it is easy to see why they receive high marks in the trip advisor rankings. Large rooms with great views and friendly hosts make this a memorable stay. This hotel is located in a rural setting about 2 miles from the center of Bad Reichenhall. It is an idealic setting overlooking a small pond with the mountains in the backround reflecting in the pond. The room was large and spacious. Heidi, has a welcoming hostess and most helpful. Georg and Heidi are wonderful hosts! Their setting is just gorgeous and peaceful since they're at the end of a road at the foot of a beautiful mountain. They have their own lake, and fishing is allowed. Georg is a gourmet chef and provides a daily menu that changes with many options (fresh fish, turkey, pork, home-grown beef, etc.). Best... more

Almost perfect. I'll give it 4.5 stars, the half-point subtraction for just a little highway noise beyond the lake you get from your balcony. No such noise from your breakfast table on the terrace, as you look up the hillside to the craggy peaks above, expecting Heidi to appear prancing down the meadow with a basket of daisies. I have just returned from Gablerhof where I spent an excellent week with my wife and two kids. The location is quite idyllic, as if it came from a Bavarian picture-book.
