My only regret about this hotel is that we didn't stay longer. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME STAYING IN SALZBURG!!!!!! Salzburg is way way way overrated anyways. Berchtesgaden is a short and nice 20 minute drive from Salzburg. Stay in Berchtesgaden instead and drive into Sazlburg. You'll be glad you did and stay at the Hotel Krone. This great hotel has stunning views across the valley to the town and the mountains. It is a little difficult locating it due to the strange switchback to get to the street but once there the Hotel is very nice. My husband and I spent a wonderful long weekend in Berchtesgaden. The hotel and room was very nice & comfortable. The view over the town with mountain backdrop was spectacular. I would recommended having your own transport and bringing your walking shoes to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Berchtesgaden is very quiet - so not recommended for night clubbing :-) more

Stayed here in May 2007... very pleasant hotel, friendly owners, traditionally Bavarian. Amazing views over the valley to the mountains opposite, close to centre of town but very quiet and peaceful. Recommended. more

Very clean nice place to stay...but long walk from town if you don't have a car up a very steep hill. My husband and I are in good shape and it was a difficult climb.
