Stay away, this hotel is horrible. I rented 2 double rooms for me and my family. Our rooms were completely unacceptable!! The plaster in one of the bathrooms was peeling off the wall in chunks. You could see the exposed plumbing and wall studs. The other bathroom had not been cleaned in a LONG time. The toilet water was a... more

From the outside, this hotel is quaint and maybe even charming. That ends once you walk in and smell some sort of sour odor (coming from the kitchen?). The woman at the front desk was nice and helpful. The hotel is divided up into two separate building - the main building where you checkin and the other you walk across... more

Stayed at this hotel with my husband and two children and found it to be an extreamly nice hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious, and the beds were comfy. Fabulous views of the surrounding mountains from our balcony. Lots on on offer at breakfast time too! more

Stayed several nights during the holidays. On a pretty street in Partenkirchen which is a little sleepy compared to Garmich. Our room was the nicest of our trip. Entire room was wood with a nice view to wake up too. Buffet was good and all you could eat. Hotel locale was excellent for trips in the Alps. Front desk could... more

Others that say that this hotel are run down are simply wrong - try keeping a hotel with over 400 years worth of heritage looking like a big American chain hotel concrete-block construction. The rooms have wonderful charm, the bathrooms are clean and refurbished and the beds are comfortable. Sure, the upholstery on some of the chairs is a little... more

Having requested a room with a view we were given a 1st floor room without much of a view.We were soon changed to a 3rd floor room with a small balcony, (rear of hotel), which had a magnificant view of the mountains and although the decor was a bit 70's ish,was fine. The public rooms of the hotel are typical... more

I stayed with my wife for two nights in mid-December, together with some German friends. The overall experience was pleasant enough, but the hotel appears to be curiously under-used. There are, from memory, three floors, but only the third floor button in the lift shows signs of use and is extremely worn. There is a restaurant, but it is only... more

We've just got back from a 7-night holiday in Bavaria, 5 nights of which were spent at the Post Hotel Partenkirchen. This place is really not bad at all - we found it difficult to get a room in Garmisch even though we booked well in advance, so it was a pleasant surprise. Garmisch and Partenkirchen are technically the same... more

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past 20 years, and it is one of my favorite resort hotels. Unfortunately, the hotel has been bashed around the net lately, a lot of it not being true. 1.Hotel has a serious car parking problem. The hotel building has a small parking lot in the back, which... more

The hotel has plenty of Alpine charm. Dark room with real wood paneling and ceiling, antique furniture and lace. The location is good, on a great street with restuarants and shopping. A pleasant 10 minute walk to the train station. We pulled our luggage on wheels, wasn't too bad. The breakfast was great. Our room really needed new carpet. The... more
