This is an underrated hotel at 14. Great location. Very nice rooms. Service that outdid every other hotel we've stayed at in Europe over the last two trips, eight hotels in all. Super 500 year old hotel right on the edge of the Marianplatz and all the Munich activity. We had a double and triple room here to accomodate 5 of us-2 adults and 3 teens. We loved the Torbrau! It is so close to everything...Marienplatz, Odeonplatz, Hofbrauhaus, etc. We had two rooms for the five of us (3 adults, 2 children). We went to Munich to see the city and visit the Christmas market. We needed an hotel which was 1. convenient to an S-Bahn station with a direct line to Munich airport, 2. convenient for the Marianplatzwhere the main Christmas market is held, 3. good quality accommodation. We spent 4 nights here in August 2008 with our 2 children. The hotel is at the end of Tal which is just a few minutes walk away from the main square and Rathaus. The Hotel is located right down the street from Marienplatz and all the other walking and shopping streets in Munich, typically a less than 5 minute walk.
