Stayed for 4 nights here and the location was great. Equidistant from the historic city centre and Oktoberfest grounds. Great breakfast, quiet little street. Really quaint and you could tell it was family run with pride. They could really use some better pillows though, but I had that complaint everywhere in Germany that wasn't a 5 star hotel. Hotel Acanthus was found on Tripadvisor. Must say it was a perfect stay in Munich. Good location, within walking distance from the U-bahn, easy reachable with S-bahn from the Airport. As others have said, the location is great. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to Marienplatz and it is just a block from the Sendlinger Tor U-bahn stop. We stayed at the Acanthus during Oktoberfest last year. Prices were very reasonable at the hotel and the location in Munich was terrific. We traveled to munich for the opening weekend of Oktoberfest so prices everywhere were very expensive. This hotel really had a ton of great options though: off street parking, bar, extremely helpful desk help, and an amazing location to the city center/sites as well as to Oktoberfest fairgrounds(centrally located between the two). The only great thing about this hotel is its location. Although we asked (and called to make sure after reading reviews) for a non-smoking room, it had clearly been used before by smokers; the guy at reception welcomed us with a cigarette in his hands and smoked while we checked-in...Maybe we are non-tolerant non-smokers, but definitely not staying there again! more
