This place is an option or those traveling on a budget (us), or making last minute reservations (us) during Octoberfest. This hotel is more like a dorm or a hostel, ideal for those who are low maintenance and who require only the basic necessities. Good for college kids and backpackers. The rooms are clean, the staff is more than accomodating, and I still say the breakfast is the best in Europe! Marienplatz is a short walk or you can take the tram. Pension Schmellergarten is perfect if you are on a budget and don't need anything fancy. We have stayed here every year since 2000 and have never had a... more
