The area (a suburb on outskirts of Munich) has quite some chestnut trees, but the hotel itself has some inner similarities also. Outside looks traditional Bavarian and a bit ugly, with the compulsory 'biergarten' next to the restaurant which will probably create lots of local noise in the autumn evenings.
Inside, however, is quite a different story - quite beautifully renovated, and really like the quality-inside-with-thorny-outside of a chestnut. Modern lift, not-so-bad (but small) gym, light corridors, and modern rooms with ditto bathrooms. Simple but complete, and nicely decorated with views of the small garden or the (slightly noisy at daytime) road. And very friendly staff and thorough Bavarian food in the restaurant.
