We recently stayed for a couple of days in the Pension Vilsmeier, a typical German B&B. Located in the 'Innstadt' across the river Inn, the Altstadt of Passau is easily accessible by foot via a pedestrian foot bridge close by. All-in-all a 20 min walk from the Pension to the Cathedral in the centre of the old town (downhill going out; uphill coming back)

The Pension Vilsmeier has 8 rooms altogether, most of them doubles, but I believe they have also a triple and some single rooms. Prices for the doubles are 46 to 52 Euros per night incl. breakfast.

Rooms are all very quiet (this is a quiet neighborhood) and the landlady, Mrs. Ritter provides a good German breakfast with plenty of cheese and a variety of sausages. more
