Christmas in Berlin was a wonderful experience here. Little gifts everyday of our stay made it easier to be away from home during the holiday. Stayed here for three nights, and were VERY satsified with the hotel. Service at the reception was efficient and welcoming. Our room (#110) was BIG, with lounge area and a four poster bed.Bathroom was big, and had a combined shower/hoth tub. Furniture and decor of room was a bit dated though. We stayed at the Savoy for 3 nights after booking a superior room on Travelocity ($124/night). The hotel is in a great location a short 5 min. walk from the S-bahn and the U. Good location just off Ku'damm. Disliked: cheap rock-hard mattress covered with plastic (!) protector sheets, tasteless furniture, strange chemical Eau-de-Cologne scent in rooms, old windows that do not shut out the street noise, broken radio, room too warm (no aircon), peeling paint on doors, price of breakfast (EUR 20!).
