The Kastanienhof is on the busiest street of the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood, so public transport is easily accessible (a tram runs in front) but it's also quite noisy. Stayed here in fall 2005 as part of a Rick Steves tour. Very nice hotel, immaculate, excellent breakfast. The streetcar right outside is very convenient... but it was a little noisy under our window. Short walk to the U-bahn, too. Great beer garden a couple blocks away. Highly recommended. more
