Couple of nights in November - Berlin is great and Hotel worked well both public transport and by taxi. It's small in what was East Berlin typical small city centre layout great for in and out. Was a bit mousy with the teams but also convent because of the trams.

Super nice and helpful staff. Room was very clean and pretty spacious for the money. Also great location right in Berlin Mitte, with many shops, restaurants and public transportation close by. They offer a lot of things for families with kids too.

The Kastanienhof Hotel is well appointed, spotlessly clean with excellent transport connections. It is surrounded by wonderfull cafés and restaurants. Great location- the surrounding area is full of interesting bars, shops, markets to wander around and visit. Transport superb- trams are great and its only a short walk to more central Berlin. This hotel was close to the city transportation and is an older hotel. It is a family run hotel. You get what you pay for. Or should I say what is included in the Rick Steve's tour. Saying that I expected a hotel with a little more comfort and cleanliness.

A nice hotel for a weekend getaway. The staff are incredibly friendly and the location A+. I've stayed at other hotels in Berlin for the same price that were no where near the standard of this lovely family hotel.

The former East Berlin is still a bit gritty but is truly where the action is.The Hotel is ideally located in the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood with a tram out the front door connecting you to everywhere.
