We visited the Hotel Abtei during our yearly Hamburg Christmas shopping weekend with friends.

As always we stayed in the Suite on the ground flour with a nice view to the garden. The room is lovely in its all English charm.
Friday evening we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant at the hotel.

As always I love the breakfast and the little fire place down stairs.

The people staying at this hotel is not the 'young' folks Its is couples who want a quiet weekend! And quiet there is a this hotel!

It is our second time at the hotel and I do prefer it when staying in Hamburg on private tours compared to the business hotels I normally stays in more

We were traveling with our married children, and occupied 2 rooms. Both were glorious. The review here says it has 266 rooms! Please correct that, as I believe there are only 8. This is, afterall, a lovely converted townhouse. Breakfast was a feast of homemade pastries, fresh fruits that looked like Martha Stewart arranged them, and eggs. All set in a lovely room off the garden. We are anxious to return. We've never been disappointed in a Relais and Chateau property.
