Sadly many German hotel rooms are as charismatic as 1980s basic IKEA furniture set with decor to match. Not so in this little gem. True effort has been made to create a place that is pleasing to the eye not just functional. There seem to be two parts to this hotel with some rooms located in the main building above restaurant (where we stayed) and some in adjacent one. Our rooms were very small must be said, but comfortable with flat screen tv and great shower room. There is a bar in the main restaurant but when we were there weather was great and everyone was dining and drinking in little secluded beer garden at the back. Meals are very good, portions huge, German style. Staff was great and spoke English, very helpful when one can't say much beyond danke. Hotel is located in small town just outside Kassel surrounded by greenery, convenient to visit local pretty towns and castles. We spent three days there and enjoyed every minute! more
