Two nights here as a break from a long drive across Europe. This hotel couldn't be more central, on the beautiful square in the pedestrian area. I stayed at the Van der Valk a couple of times in 2005 back when the hotel was still a Meridien. Hildesheim itself is an interesting and attractive little town and the hotel is located on the beautifully reconstructed main square of the town, with a modern extension behind. This hotel was a real treat. It was a Le Meridean before it turned into the Van der Valk. We were in a King room. When you book, ask for a courtyard or plaza view.
