We found the hotel (more a pension) after a long day's driving and were lucky that there was room for us. The proprietor spoke absolutely no English (and we don't speak German) but we managed to work it out between us. It's a big old multi-storied house converted into rooms and it has a comfy, homely feel about it, like your old guest houses. The accommodation is clean, big rooms, bathroom fine, with quaint little alcoves outside some of the rooms - a bit like your table and chairs outside a doctor's rooms in long-ago days. Cute. The breakfast was enormous and with lots of variety. The position is good, on a corner looking out over the lake, and is within walking distance of the shops and old centre. Not that far to the Schwerin castle either (don't miss that!). Good value for money and it doesn't break the bank. more
