I attend a classic car show in Essen every year and along with other classic car people, we always stay at Hotel Zum Deutschen Haus. It's a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good (for one or two evenings), but after a couple times, you need to go elsewhere....the portions are too large! But it's a great "German Experience". Located right on the end of the walking street. A home-town hotel/restaurant with "regulars", who stop by for a drink or two and a dinner or two. Highly recommended. more
