We stayed two nights at this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The proprietors spoke English, and gave us valuable advice on what to see and where to go. This was a great location from which to visit the castles in the area - right down by the edge of the Rhine. The boat "Deutsches Eck" stops just outside the hotel, and for 8 euros per person we were able to take the cruise down as far as Braubach and visit Marksburg Castle for the day. Other boats are available from the docks nearer to the point. VERY helpful to know enough German to read signs and maps and tourguides! Although most people had enough English that we were able to communicate, it would have been better to be able to read historical signs and so forth.
Our rooms were small, but we really didn't need more space; only used the rooms for sleeping. No air conditioning, and the window doesn't open enough to let much air in at night. That was not a problem, however. We live in southeastern Texas... more
