The Taschenbergpalais is a very special place and I am glad that my husband and I were able to stay there. I appreciate hotels with a history and the Taschenberg definitely has plenty. Built by August the Strong for his mistress and almost completely destroyed during WWII, it has been rebuilt to its former glory. Throughout our 3 day stay... more

Former review is very accurate as we had a very similar experience. We booked a standard room which, although very comfortable, was very dark and looked out onto a back street. It had only one tiny window. It was only on our last morning after seeing into other rooms that we realised that some had two windows and others three.... more

Great location- right next to the main museum area and also the opera house. (Altho the Westin which has views looking across the river at this stretch may possibly win on views?). My room was at the back of the hotel- so sadly despite a 245 euro room only rate which I think was probably too much- I only got... more

Lovely hotel, nice room, nice spa. A luxury stay without the luxury price tag (a bit of rooting on t'interweb got this at around €142-). more

As is typical of Kempinski, they did an outstanding job in the renovation of the Taschenbergpalais, where they have successfully melded modern style and comfort with an elegant historic structure. From the hallways to the courtyard to the room itself, I was snapping pictures, which I only do if the facility is so outstanding that I want to share it... more

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very impressed. The service was excellent from the minute we checked in. We were personally walked to our room upon arrival and complimentary berries with a jar of jam was brought to our room. The room has high ceilings and is beautifully furnished with every possible ammenity. This was our first stay... more

With so many recommendations, the Taschenberg was our first choice and proved to be excellent in every way. Friendly, straightforward and no nonsense from check-in until we left three days later, we encountered a businesslike and professional attitude from every member of staff we met and it 's clear that this is a very well-run establishment indeed. The hotel is... more

Great hotel. The location is minutes walk from all of the most important sights. Restaurant is good as is breakfast choices. Room is large decorated with a lovely royal theme. Staff was friendly. Beautifully renovated building both inside and out. Kept its old world charm. TV is old and channel options could be better. more

Perfect in every sense. The breakfast room (but is actually a king buffet rather than a breakfast) worth the trip. A good choice for going to Semper Oper. In front of main entrance there is the "Grüne Gewölbe" (jewelery museum). I suggest to visit Dresden (and the Taschenbergpalais) during Christmas Holidays. more

We spent a weekend at the Taschenbergpalais. The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday and I am quite fussy! From our window we had a great view of the Opera and the Zwinger, it felt like staying... more
