This is one of three identical Ibis hotels, and although they're converted East German tower blocks you wouldn't know this from the inside. Inside it's a typical Ibis, same all over Europe - fairly small shower room, comfortable bed, reasonable desk, sufficient room to move. And most important of all, FANTASTIC air conditioning. Fantastic in that it was super-effective and... more

Great hotel, typical of the Ibis brand. Clean, nice sized rooms, great breakfast. The hotel is located at the bottom of Pragerstrasse, which is a long pedestrian street with lots of shopping (mainly chains and department stores). There are also many dining options on the street. However, it is only about a 10 minute walk to the center of the... more

1. The location was OK. Near the station and a 10-15-minute walk to the old town. There were restaurants, shops etc. on Prager Str.. 2. The price was reasonable. 3. The hotel was a typical Ibis. Rooms were clean, simple, small-ish (for an American), and functional. Foam-ish beds, individually-controlled A/C, TV with 2 English-language channels. Bathroom was small, but clean... more

Nice hotel to a short stay in Dresden. Great location, in pedestrian avenue in the centre of Dresden with a tram stop a few meters from the door. The breakfast is quite expensive and you can have a nice breakfast for half the price in the Cafe in front. more

A little more basic than Mercure (same chain), but nevertheless clean and modern. Smallish rooms and bathrooms, but big enough to reasonably accommodate two adults in comfort at an excellent price. This hotel was built as part of large western style shopping complex in the late communist era, but other than the uniformity and lack of aesthetics, it shows little... more

Although guides tend to refer only to the Ibis Bastei, there are in fact three Ibis hotels all in a row on the main thoroughfair from Dresden main station to the city centre. I have no reason to believe that the three are anything but comparable. The Bastei was fairly functional, but comfortable and good value. Its location was a... more

Stayed for one night and had a great stay. 53 euro for a single room on sixth floor. Superb AC and cery clean rooms with clean bathroom. Close to the Altadt. Nothing to complain about. Will be back there next time in Dresden. They even had Sky News on the tv which is not that common. I like that!! more

This is one of 3 identical 300-room Ibis hotels which sit in a row on Prager Strasse, just north of the train station. The buildings are hideously ugly, but the hotel was suprisingly nice on the inside. The hotel was recently renovated, and the rooms and lobbies are bright and pastel colored. Most of the rooms are identical (the only... more

I spent one night in this hotel. It's just one block from the main train station and a frew blocks away from the main sights. It's a typical Ibis hotel, not luxurious, but clean and well located. I don't regret it. more

We had very enjoyable stay. We (three adults) occupied a suite with a king bed and a sofa bed in one room and a sofa bed in the other. Room was basic but spacious and immaculate. Suburb location - 10-15 min walking to all tourist attractions. Pleasant staff at the reception. Huge selection at the buffet breakfast. And the price... more
