We stayed at ETAP Erfurt to visit family. Location in half way from highway exit to the city (probably 4-5 km), behind a gas station. The hotel is so basic, I get impression that is how prisons in Europe look alike. I heard stories that prisons in Europe are almost like hotels, so ETAP is basically almost a hotel. (BTW this is a chain, owned by Accor corporation).
The price is 31 Euro per night. This is how rooms look alike:
- Metal bunk beds, full size down and half full up (narrower then twin bed). There is no mattress, instead they provide 10 cm thick foam.
- Furniture is one small corner table and metal chair, small TV (30 cm or so), nothing else.
- No pictures on the wall.
- Bathroom is one piece plastic cage, even toilet seat is part of the cage. They clean it using water hose. Also, no shampoo is provided.
