At first, sorry for our late review. In remembrance of our holiday we watch at tripadvisor today the reviews. The 2 and 3 Star-Ratings made us to write our review. My companion and me (germans) had made a roundtrip through Andalusia in August 2010. To relax after a week of travel we stay at Melissa and Ian for 4 days.... More

So easy to get to from Gibraltar, even though the last 2 kms is down a rough road, with the most marvellous views over the Sierra down to Marbella. A peaceful location, so relaxing - and with welcoming and knowledgeable English but bi-lingual, hosts. We were in a lovely, tastefully decorated 2-bedroom villa, a stone's throw to a help-yourself breakfast... More

We also booked this accomodation from previous excellent reviews. Agree that Melissa was excellent in replying to e-mails and certainly made us feel excited about the holiday. If you want a typical Spanish rural idyll then this is a contender. I agree that the 2KM drive to the villas is a nightmare and particularly bad if you don't return until... More

We have booked the Los Olivos cottage well in advance for our last week in Andalucia - looking for a peaceful rest after the must-go-three-city tour. The reviews here were such enthusiastic... Short before our departure I made an update and was not so sure that we have chosen the best. But we have! It was like finding a never-seen-before... More

We were very much looking forward to an 8 night stay here in August having read all the glowing reviews here and seeing the hotel's website. Melissa was also very helpful and friendly over email when arranging our booking. However we were very disappointed - so much so that we stayed for only one night. We have never left a... More

We spent 3 charming days at Cerros de los Higos to experience the the heart of Andalucia away from the typical tourist trail of southern spain. The Potters are an engaging and warm family and Billy the dog completes the setup. You definitely need a car and a confident driver to find it but is worth the effort. The cottages... More

As per the two previous reviewers, I didn't review immediately as wanted to think about it a bit and be fair. Nice place with lots of potential and beautiful views. Our room (Los Olivos) was rustic (in a nice way), comfortable and clean enough. Bathroom smelled badly though (of drains) which was a bit offputting. Breakfast was, we thought, pretty... More

We also struggled after staying here to get up to writing a honest review so didn't for some months. Lots of great reviews but not our experience. The good: This place is in a remote location with a great view of the mountains and the sea (at least from the Los Olivos apartment. A small pool just steps away. The... More

We went to Cerro de los Higos 2 months ago and only decided to write a review now as we hesitated so much due to the fact that what we have to write is rather negative and we are usually not negative people. One of the reasons we went to Cerro de los Higos is because the reviews on trip... More

Just returned from the excellent Cerro de los higos last night , It is an excellent get away, if you want to party in puerto banus this is NOT the place for you. if you want to chill by the pool and explore the local typically Spanish area this is it. It is very rural and the little local village... More
