Good location, but the worst breakfast I have ever had and the woman who serves it is very rude.Very small pool with view and no sun in the afternoon.Furniture in the rooms needs to be changed urgently. It's a shame, cause this could have been a very nice place to stay at. more

We booked this room through octupus travel, this was the only website that had room availability, maybe this was our mistake! We had looked at previous reviews and this seemed an ideal choice the rooms were described as very spacious.Oh no there not! Ours had a small kitchenette, table and two chairs and two beds and a dresser. The furniture was very worn... more

The main plus points for this hotel were the reasonable rates (before school holidays) and its location in a side street just behind the old lighthouse from which it takes its name. It's near the marina, beach and seafront festaurants, and the main road through Marbella is at the other end of the side street, where you can get local... more

Lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location couldn't have been better for the resort. Howver, the bar was only open 'in the mornings' which was a bit odd and meant there wasn't really any atmosphere as guests didn't spend time in the hotel lobby. The pool is really quite small and loses the sun at 4pm.... more

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of a Hen Party. After reading the previous reviews, we were a bit worried about what the standard would be - however - we were pleasantly surprised! The rooms were clean & had good air conditioning - much needed! Our room was really big and although the views were not great -... more

It is near the beach and has a nice pool. Rooms not great but you get what you pay for so there was no complaints from us. Breakfast was great too. But better for groups than of a relaxing holiday more

I have just returned from a 4 night stay at El Faro, with a group of 9 girls on a hen weekend. The location is perfect, approx 2 minute walk from the beach. the rooms are spacious with free air conditioning, the beds are comfortable!!! Breakfast is basic, but if you like bread, toast croissants you will be fine!!! The... more

Stayed here for a week when i was working at the tennis tournament up the road. The rooms were pretty good, nice and spacious, clean with a cooking area and balcony. The view from the balcony was nothing to write home about. Breakfast was borderline horrific, theres only so much pate a man can eat, with the alternative cereal and... more

While the El Faro is probably well suited to hordes of drunken English stags and hens, it is a true holiday from hell for anyone with small children or wanting a nice break. We booked for a week with our 1 year old son, my wife was 6 months pregnant, and we were kept up all night every night by... more

Stayed here for 11 nights from 28 september '08. The hotel is in a great location between the old town and the beach and only a stone-throws away from both. My husband and I stayed on the second floor at the front of the hotel. We were worried it may be a little noisy from what we had read but... more
